With opening in 1742 as the royal court opera is she the oldest opera- and theater building in Berlin. After the destructions of World War II were 1955 many reconstructions and modifications in line with the original parts of the historical facade performed.

As part of building maintenance were overlapping sub-measures (repair / renovation / remodeling / renovation) controlled in the following areas: Elevators, fire protection, stage floor, roof renovation magazine building, hall seating, underground parking and many more.
