As part of the “Economic Stimulus Package II”, were set of investments in education and infrastructure to make clear impulses in Berlin for climate protection and energy efficiency.
In the district of Reinickendorf were primarily school sites rehabilitated and energetically upgraded. At the same time, the requirements for the start of the new school structure (secondary) should be established by appropriate construction measures.
In addition to various energy improvements to the building shell, the schools primarily have been extended with canteens and cafeterias, which arose both from reconstruction, new constructions or constructional extensions.
Georg-Herwegh-Gymnasium
Reconstruction to a five lined, all-day organized school: erection of a two storey new building with ten classrooms, two collaboration spaces, a canteen for the open day operation and a disabled toilet facility
Gustav-Freytag-school (Integrated School):
Reconstruction to a four parted, all-day organized School: build a new cafeteria with a multipurpose room with attached kitchen and four rooms for free time activity area, renewal of the elevator installation, the sanitary facilities and grounds
Primary school at Fließtal:
renovation of the sports hall according to the Energy the requirements of the EnEV 2007 (+ 30%), continuous roofing of the entrance area, creating a barrier-free access, renewal of the outdoor facilities.
Reconstruction to a four parted, all-day organized School: Construction of an annexe with a canteen and adjoining multipurpose room, in the form of a partial building in the formerly unused courtyard area, renewal of the outdoor facilities.
Benjamin-Franklin-Schule (Integrierte Sekundarschule)

Reconstruction to a four parted, all-day organized School: Reconstruction of classrooms into a cafeteria, handicapped accessible reconstruction of the existing building with the installation of an elevator system. Renovations in the sanitary sector and renewal of the outdoor facilities.
Friedrich-Engels-Gymnasium
Reconstruction the high school to a 5-parted, bonded full-day school by setting up of a new building with multi-purpose room / cafeteria, a foyer, three room fpr collaborative work and twelve classrooms, renewal of the outdoor facilities
Schule „Alt-Wittenau” (Johannes-Lindhorst- und Max-Eyth-Oberschule)
Reconstruction and restructuring of the university location to five parted all day organized School: Construction of a new energy-optimized building with a cafeteria and multipurpose room, recreational areas and the construction of five classrooms and handicap accessibly improvements in the existing building by installing of an elevator system.
