Tunnel sealing at the underground station Wittenbergplatz U1/U2/U3 BVG

The renovation work on the tunnel sealing started in 2008 and is separated in multiple sections.

First Construction section:
The station is open since 1902 and needed a complete renovation with 4000 m² tunnel sealing in 2008. It was an complicated renovation for the whole inner construction in connection to the outer sealing needed, because of huge water damages. Parallel to this was the complete outer construction under historical and monumental preservation aspect newly built.

Second construction section:
Reconstruction of ventilation shafts

In 2010-2011 were four ventilation openings renovated and reconstructed. Simultaneously was the ceramic tiling reconstruction with following all monumental preservation requirements.
